Update11th February

Lots keeps happening here in Harlow and many things to be grateful to God for.
• We have connected with another 2/3 people round the town and are starting to build friendships with them.
• We also have our first Alpha course starting on Sunday with 2 guests on it.
• We are also close to going live with our new website as well so as you can probably guess things are still pretty full on!

We’d value your prayers for the above plus for God to connect us with key people who can join us to build a significant church for His glory. We could really do with some good people, people as well as men and musicians to help us build a really strong church.

Our next Playhouse Sunday Afternoon Gathering is coming up on the 27th February and we could really do with some friendly support so if you’re able to join us we’d really value it.

Also please keep praying for our friends Colin & Eunice who are still trying to sell a house in Braintree to relocate to Enfield as per an earlier blog.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and also to those of you who travelled across to be with us at The Harlow Playhouse last Sunday for our monthly gathering. We had a great time with God and connected with some new people as well as enjoying some M&S sandwiches!

We met together yesterday at The Harlow Study Centre as well and are excited by what God is doing amongst us and His heart for Harlow.

We’d really value prayers for wisdom over the next steps to take as all of a sudden there is loads to do and yet we don’t want to make mistakes by doing the things we feel are important which actually aren’t!

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Update 6

We hope this update finds you well as we fast approach the end of January already and it appears 2011 isn’t going to hang around!

We’ve been flat out spending time with one another and getting into the rhythm of meeting at the Study Centre as well as in homes and this coming Sunday (30th January) we have our first 4pm Sunday Afternoon Gathering at Harlow Playhouse.

We’re really excited about this as it is a massive God given opportunity to worship Jesus and give Him glory right in the centre of our town and we also feel this is a big step in our journey towards becoming a significant church in Harlow Essex.

We’d appreciate your prayers for the meeting, that all the arrangements would go well, that many people from in and around Harlow would be drawn to come along and worship Jesus as well as partnering with us in our mission of making Him more famous in our town. One other prayer request is for our friends Colin & Eunice who are trying to sell their current house in Braintree and move to Enfield. Please pray that a buyer is found asap and the transaction all works out.

We’ll bring you an update after the Gathering and look forward to tell you of the amazing things our God has done.

Update at the start of 2011

Happy New Year!
A year ago today we had our first meeting which involved eating spaghetti bolognaise and praying for God to do something amazing.

A year later God has been exceedingly faithful to us and our adventure with Him has been exciting but our hearts cry is still for Him to do something even more amazing in 2011 which leaves people in no doubt that our God is with us!

We feel God has laid 3 things on our hearts at the start of this year
1) ‘come let us arise and build for our God is with us’ paraphrase from Nehemiah 2
2) ‘persevere and press on to be all God has called us to be’ from Philippians 3
3) ‘become more worshippers in spirit and in truth’ from John 4

We’d really appreciate your prayers that we’d come into contact with more Christians who are new to Harlow, people who have made it a New Year’s resolution to explore Christianity or those who once walked closely with God but have drifted away as we seek to add lots more people to our church for Jesus’ glory!

We’d also appreciate your prayers (and if you live in Harlow or nearby you joining us) for our Harlow Playhouse afternoons. The first of these is on the 30th January at 4pm and we’re really looking forward to being back in the Playhouse worshipping God. God Central Church Harlow - Update 23rd December

Hello and Merry Christmas. We hope you’re enjoying the season and keeping well.

It’s exciting for us as we come towards the end of 2010 to be able to announce that we will be having monthly Sunday afternoon meetings, starting at 4pm, during 2011 at the Harlow Playhouse!

It would be great if you would like to come along and see what God is doing and please feel free, in fact we’d encourage you, to pass these dates on to anyone else who might find them useful as we feel God is calling us to keep gathering and these meetings are a fresh avenue to do this by!

In addition we’d ask for you to pray for God’s guidance for us and the ability to keep building people up into all that God would have them be for His glory.

God Centtral Church Harlow - Update 10th December

Lots has been happening this week so we wanted to share some of it with you for prayer and praise.
We’ve seen God help out members of God Central Church with their business this week as well as another member make a marvellous recovery from a major operation.
Today we had the opportunity to talk to the manager of a potential venue for monthly Sunday ‘gatherings’ which we feel God is leading us into as we continue to gather more people by His grace. The meeting went extremely well and we’re now praying for a favourable response and the opportunity to build on-going relationships.

We’ve also updated our current website with dates for January, a couple of new videos, resources etc. Please take a look at www.Godcentralchurch.org and if you know anyone in and around Harlow who isn’t connected to an existing church please forward onto them as we’re keen to make new friendships and see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Could we ask you to pray specifically for new contacts to come from whatever source as God has really been speaking to us about lights coming on, an increase in profile, new people looking in and we really are desperate to see this!

In addition prayer for guidance and wisdom as we seek God over the next steps in the exciting yet scary adventure we’re on with Him in making Him more famous and building a church in Harlow would be very much appreciated.

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow (Update 3rd December)

Hi and hope you are enjoying, or at least overcoming, the wintry weather which has set in around the UK.

Despite the wintry conditions it’s been very much full steam ahead over the past couple of weeks for us as a group as we reflect on God’s faithfulness in 2010 but also look forward with excitement to what He could do in 2011!

We feel called to hasten our efforts to reach new people in Harlow during the Christmas period knowing that God is with us. In particular we will be running some more internet advertising as well as getting more stationary produced and distributed within our town.

We’re also closing in on the specifics of our more public next phase where we hope to be meeting roughly monthly on Sunday afternoons in the early part of 2011 as we seek to not only worship Jesus but gather more people from around Harlow. As always if you know of anyone new to the town, not connected to another Church or simply exploring Christianity please pass our details on to them.
