Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow Update 25th November

Afternoon and we trust this message finds you well.

As always a massive thank you for reading this and supporting us in prayer.
We’re pleased to say it’s been a busy month here in Harlow and the highlight has been the power and presence of God in our sermon times where God has just been graciously directing us and challenging us both as individuals and as a church.

It was also great to have our friends Dave & Sharon with us last Sunday. Dave brought an encouraging word to us as church and his message can be found in the sermon section of our website, www.Godcentralchurch.org

We’re excited about the things God’s been saying and doing. In particular we have the opportunity to serve our town as on both Saturday the 10th and 17th December from 3.30 till 5pm we’ll be singing carols in Costa coffee, 35 Broadwalk right in the heart of Harlow.
If you’re local or know someone who is please come along as it promises to be really good fun and also a chance to indulge in what we feel is the perfect Christmas coffee which is the nutty praline and cream latte!

Update 11th November - Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow

Afternoon everyone and sorry it’s been a month since our last update.
During that time we’ve been enjoying worshipping God every Sunday at the Playhouse and also meeting new faces every week as God continues to bless and encourage us along our adventure with Him.

We also had a performance from ‘the great Open Door’ school assembly team where I believe the pupils at God Central school were well behaved!

Please continue to pray for us that we will follow hard after God and move into all He has for us both as individuals and as a church. Also that more people would find out about us and come along – our phrase at the moment is ‘come as you are’ and we really want the people of Harlow to do just that so if you are reading this and from our town, or know someone who lives here, please give us a try one Sunday morning at 10.30am

Looking ahead we will be joining with many other churches across Harlow for carols in the Harvey Centre on Thursday the 15th December and our own carols at another time, at another venue details of which will follow!

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow. Update 9th October

Well it continues to be an exciting Autumn for us as week by week we are meeting new people, renewing friendships and above all else worshipping Jesus in the centre of Harlow.

In the last few weeks we’ve been looking at the DNA of a Spirit Filled Church and we’ve had some great times where God has really impacted both the corporate body and individual people.

We’re encouraged by what God has done already and seeking Him for even greater things in the days, weeks, months and years that lie ahead for us!

We’d still value your prayers for protection, gathering the next group of people and particularly for our children’s and young people’s work which is starting to go live!

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow update

Afternoon and greetings from a sunny Harlow.

We are now approaching the end of our first month of Sunday morning meetings at the Harlow Playhouse and are both encourage and amazed at what God has started to do amongst us.

We’re seen many new faces drop in to our meetings and are thankful to God for those who have decided to join us on our adventure over the past few weeks. Please be praying that others who have been along will do likewise and continue coming plus that we’ll continue to see new members coming along each week!

In particular we’d appreciate wisdom about our children’s work as we look to transform this area during October and also for teenagers who are now the least represented age group in the church!

God Central Church - Update 9th September

We are incredibly grateful to God as our first Sunday went well and it was great to worship Jesus in the centre of our town with both friends and new faces alike. It was also fabulous to be able to involve the children in the service and for them to have their own room.

This week we’ve been advertising in the local paper and our prayer is that God joins many more people to us for His glory.
We have specific needs both in terms of children’s workers and parts of our worship team which we’re trusting Him for as we seek to build a significant church here in Harlow, Essex.

Please do keep praying for wisdom and protection for us all as we are at both an exciting but also vulnerable stage in our adventure at present.

Update 31st August 2011....

Morning and hope you’ve had a good Bank Holiday.


Whilst much of the news is today focused on the last minute football transfers we feel they’ve missed the bigger news that this Sunday is God Central’s first Sunday morning, 10.30am, meeting and for the first time there’s a room for children as well!

As such if your around and want to pop along know you’d be more than welcome and rumours are circulating of lunch at Pizza Hut afterwards too..

We’d greatly value your prayers as there’s a tremendous amount to pull together and we really are taking a huge step of faith.

Also next week we’re advertising in the Harlow Star again and so would appreciate your prayers that God highlights this to people and that we continue to gather, grow and go with the good news of Jesus.

Newfrontiers God Central Church Harlow - Update 1st August

Newfrontiers God Central Church – Harlow. Update 1st August

Well summer is upon us and we’re enjoying gearing up for Sunday mornings with effect from the 4th September.

Plans are going well and we’ve also seen an upturn in new enquiries from both people who have been away from church for a while as well as new Christians moving to Harlow. If you are reading this and in or know someone in either of those categories then please send us a message from the ‘contact us’ part of the website as we’d really like to hear from you.

We’re also hosting a ‘come and meet us’ evening at the Harlow Playhouse at 6pm on Sunday 14th August where people who have been following us for a while or have just heard about us can come along and hear a bit of our story so far and also our dreams for the future. We’re advertising the evening in the Harlow Star newspaper so if you’d like to come and support us or send someone along that would be brilliant and there will be cakes and drinks to whet your appetite still further!

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow Update 8th July

We hope this finds you well and thanks for reading and supporting us on our mission of making Jesus better known in Harlow.

Since we last wrote we’re pleased to announce that from September we’ll be meeting every Sunday morning at 10.30am at the Harlow Playhouse.

Even better they have kindly agreed that we can use 2 rooms downstairs and so we’re excited about helping the babies and children have their own space as well as the opportunity to improve our welcome and profile.

God has been so good to us we are very grateful and amazed at what He has done and is doing! He really is building His church!

In addition we’ve also been in contact with several new people in Harlow which is again really exciting as God has spoken to us about gathering more people as we move into the next season and He is already going before us and linking us with new people in Harlow!

Newfrontiers God Central Church Update 10th June

Well it’s raining here in Harlow today but that hasn’t dampened our spirits.

It’s great to be able to share that our friends Colin & Eunice exchanged contracts on their house Tuesday just gone. Exciting times ahead for them but please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as there’s still lots to be done before and on move day which is the 28th June.

In addition we’ve been busy planning out our next steps for July, August and September and will be sharing them at the Playhouse this coming Sunday at 4.30pm so if you’d like to know more then please feel free to come along – it’s always really encouraging when we have new faces so please consider coming. God Central Church Harlow Update 24th May 2011

Well time has been going very quickly for us as we’ve been busy trying to establish God Central Church.

Since we last wrote in early May we’ve had some interesting events occur. We were unable to use the Playhouse for one of our meetings and so had to re-camp back to our back garden where we did church on picnic rugs and patio chairs! I often wondered how people such as Whitfield and Wesley preached to thousands in the open air and am still of the opinion God must have given them powerful lungs! That said God was good to us and we had a great afternoon.

We’ve also been blessed with further enquiries from people new to Harlow and those around the town who are considering joining us on our adventure. Please can you join us in praying this happens and also that we come into contact with more and more people in our town who will join us for the long term as we’re at an exciting yet critical time of trying to grow through 40 adults at present.

We’d also appreciate your prayers for protection for us as several of us are suffering with ill health and other major bits of life, so we’re really trusting Jesus to break through in several situations.

Finally if your free and could come and support us this coming Sunday from 4pm at the Harlow Playhouse as always you’d be extremely welcome!

Newfrontiers God Central Church Harlow - Update 6th May

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support. It’s been a busy time in God Central church as we’ve been transitioning from 2 to 3 life groups as well as taking a fresh look at how we do things.

We’ve also been busy leafleting new areas of Harlow, working on fine tweaking our website (www.Godcentralchurch.org) as well as going to weekly ‘us together’ meetings based at either the Harlow Study Centre or the Harlow Playhouse. (A full list of all our meeting dates can be found on our website.)

If you’re reading this and new to Harlow why not pop along to one of our meetings, details are on the website or you can e-mail us from there if you fancy a coffee and chat first.

Prayer requests would be for more of the presence of God, His favour to gather more people and see lives transformed by the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. In particular we are praying for men, families and musicians to help us in the next stage of establishing a significant church for the display of Jesus’ glory so if you or someone you know fits these categories please get in touch and lets have a coffee.

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow. Update 1st April

Update 1St April

Firstly this isn’t an April fools message so please read on as we’d like to keep you informed of what’s been happening in the Life of God Central Church and would really value your prayers.

The last couple of weeks have been fairly tough as we seem to have encountered lots of illness within the church and a few people have also had tough personnel circumstances to cope with.

We’d really appreciate your prayers in light of this for healing and the power of God to breakthrough several circumstances.

We’d also appreciate prayer for staying on course on the mission we’re on of glorifying Jesus in Harlow and building big people for him. We’re very much in a transition at present looking towards weekly gatherings from Easter onwards building towards weekly Sundays before too much longer.
That means finding a new rhythm of doing things and we want this to be God’s rhythm for us not one we make up!

In particular we feel God has been speaking to us about 3 M’s to aide us on our mission.

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Harlow Update 18th March

Another couple of weeks have flown by and they’ve been busy for us here in Harlow. We’ve seen God answer prayers for both healing and the sale of our friends house in Braintree, plus gathered more people to God Central church!

We’re all excited about next Sunday, 27th March, as we’re back at Harlow Playhouse for another 4pm gathering and expecting great things of our God. If your around and want to pop along it would be really great to see lots of you.

We really feel an urgency to keep reaching out to people in Harlow so as always please if you are reading this and new to the town or know someone in Harlow who isn’t connected to an existing church then please get them to make contact via our website www.Godcentralchurch.org
Prayer points would be jobs and work for people within the church. Healing for some of us (including our daughter Amelia who’s still suffering with a nasty virus), and the continued favour and presence of God.

As an aside we’ve just downloaded the new Passion worship album ‘Here for you’ and would thoroughly recommend it!

Newfrontiers God Centtral Church - Harlow Update 6th March

We hope this message finds you well. We’ve just finished a Regional Newfrontiers Weekend which has been great catching up with good friends but more importantly hearing stories of the exciting things God is doing around this part of England.

For our part God has really been blessing us here in Harlow as we seek to build a significant church for His glory. Last week at our ‘Playhouse Gathering’ we had new faces amongst us again and some great chats which we hope will start some significant friendships. God was really with us and reminding us of our commission to ‘arise and build for the favour of God is with us’

In addition our new website, wwwGodcentralchurch.org, is now being found by search engines etc and we’ve already seen enquiries come from it!

Next week we’re back out flyering around Harlow as we want to be obedient to God’s call to go and gather more people. Please pray for us in this that we will once again connect with the people God has in His plan for us.

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Update 11th February

Update11th February

Lots keeps happening here in Harlow and many things to be grateful to God for.
• We have connected with another 2/3 people round the town and are starting to build friendships with them.
• We also have our first Alpha course starting on Sunday with 2 guests on it.
• We are also close to going live with our new website as well so as you can probably guess things are still pretty full on!

We’d value your prayers for the above plus for God to connect us with key people who can join us to build a significant church for His glory. We could really do with some good people, people as well as men and musicians to help us build a really strong church.

Our next Playhouse Sunday Afternoon Gathering is coming up on the 27th February and we could really do with some friendly support so if you’re able to join us we’d really value it.

Also please keep praying for our friends Colin & Eunice who are still trying to sell a house in Braintree to relocate to Enfield as per an earlier blog.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and also to those of you who travelled across to be with us at The Harlow Playhouse last Sunday for our monthly gathering. We had a great time with God and connected with some new people as well as enjoying some M&S sandwiches!

We met together yesterday at The Harlow Study Centre as well and are excited by what God is doing amongst us and His heart for Harlow.

We’d really value prayers for wisdom over the next steps to take as all of a sudden there is loads to do and yet we don’t want to make mistakes by doing the things we feel are important which actually aren’t!

Newfrontiers God Central Church - Update 6

We hope this update finds you well as we fast approach the end of January already and it appears 2011 isn’t going to hang around!

We’ve been flat out spending time with one another and getting into the rhythm of meeting at the Study Centre as well as in homes and this coming Sunday (30th January) we have our first 4pm Sunday Afternoon Gathering at Harlow Playhouse.

We’re really excited about this as it is a massive God given opportunity to worship Jesus and give Him glory right in the centre of our town and we also feel this is a big step in our journey towards becoming a significant church in Harlow Essex.

We’d appreciate your prayers for the meeting, that all the arrangements would go well, that many people from in and around Harlow would be drawn to come along and worship Jesus as well as partnering with us in our mission of making Him more famous in our town. Update at the start of 2011

Happy New Year!
A year ago today we had our first meeting which involved eating spaghetti bolognaise and praying for God to do something amazing.

A year later God has been exceedingly faithful to us and our adventure with Him has been exciting but our hearts cry is still for Him to do something even more amazing in 2011 which leaves people in no doubt that our God is with us!

We feel God has laid 3 things on our hearts at the start of this year
1) ‘come let us arise and build for our God is with us’ paraphrase from Nehemiah 2
2) ‘persevere and press on to be all God has called us to be’ from Philippians 3
3) ‘become more worshippers in spirit and in truth’ from John 4

We’d really appreciate your prayers that we’d come into contact with more Christians who are new to Harlow, people who have made it a New Year’s resolution to explore Christianity or those who once walked closely with God but have drifted away as we seek to add lots more people to our church for Jesus’ glory!

We’d also appreciate your prayers (and if you live in Harlow or nearby you joining us) for our Harlow Playhouse afternoons. The first of these is on the 30th January at 4pm and we’re really looking forward to being back in the Playhouse worshipping God.
